Research and Development Engineer - SHOW - - HIDE -

Job Description:


Engineer new and existing coating solutions for automotive parts from conception to launch; develop and test prototype solutions and participate in first factor productions and customer tests; utilize Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD) machine to develop multilayer wear resistant coatings for functional and decorative applications, including PVD Coating, Plasma Ion Nitriding, Salt Bath Nitriding Kolen QPQ; work with peer internal engineers to ensure final product quality and production optimization targets;  evaluate and make recommendations for productivity and process improvement plans; develop recipes for treatment in a PVD production line; develop, test, and fix various vacuum deposition coating utilizing NCT and TSD coating machines; create technical reports on parts rejected by the customer; perform root cause analysis on coating parts, and apply customer requirements to solve issues; utilize vacuum deposition technologies to determine optimal cleaning solutions and surface preparation for all unique products prior to coating process; operate and create recipes for HEF cleaning line; and choose unique polishing techniques to optimize surface finish, pre and post coating.



Other Job Requirements:


Must have a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a foreign equivalent, and at least 2 years of experience in the job offered or a substantially similar position.


Salary:                         $86,000 – 96,000/yr


Work Hours:                8 AM to 5 PM
